Strings
Produced in Denmark (2004) with an international team of specialists, Strings became a landmark in the world of puppet movies, using marionettes in a scope never before attempted.
Strings is a mythological story about the son of a king, Hal Tara, who sets out on a journey to avenge the death of his father. To his surprise he discovers the truth of his own people - and where he least expects it - he finds true love
Among other awards Strings received the ”Best European Phantasy Film award”.
Bernd Ogrodnik was the puppet master of the film and designed elaborate marionettes that could dive into water, climb mountains, and wage fierce battles. He trained and supervised a team of fifteen puppeteers from all around the world in lending life to hundreds of marionettes. Two of them, Sofie Krog and Astrid Kjær Jensen are the guests of B I P and will participate in a panel discussion after the screening of the film with Bernd Ogrodnik.
